Dark, despairing; this is the Graveyard, filled with fog and shadows. Here it feels like night, though truly the time doesn't change in this empty world. The graves are marked with names and dates. Sometimes, they spark memories. Sometimes, they create nightmares.

Here, gray fog moves to soft sepia tones. The grass is tall, a foot high or more, and amber. A grove of five trees sits at the highest point of the hill. Each tree is different.

Maple; Oak; Willow; Birch; Spruce.

Sometimes, the pine needles of the spruce seem a vibrant green. Sometimes, to some people, when memories are strong and the fog is weak.

The house is simple. On the second level there are many bedrooms and bathrooms; below that, there's a large kitchen, a large dining hall, and a large living room. There's a TV there and a console with uncertain origins, with discs to use. It's a mystery about what game you'll get; nothing's labelled.

A tree so old that it has grown to impossible heights and widths. It is carved hollow though it still lives. Those who rest inside it can feel its heartbeat. It is beautiful. It is mysterious. It is a wonderful, wonderful tree. The fog stays away. Sometimes, it even has faded colors.
From a distance even you can see it; it towers above all the rest of the forest, windowless. From a distance, you cannot tell that it has an inside at all. That requires finding the door.

The gray stone path leads to all the important locations. The house. The graveyard. The hill. It is the path to follow if you do not wish to get lost.

The path that curves and leads nowhere. It runs you around in circles. It draws you back to the gray stone path. It never goes anywhere, and never stays in the same place. It is so dark with fog that you can barely see your hand in front of your face. Sometimes it suffocates. Sometimes people go missing. They show up, later, in the graveyard. A terrible threat - or a kind warning. It has faded color to it, a red that is reminiscent of blood.

This path is made of sand, overgrown with plants and filled with rocks. It leads deep into a forest, mysterious and strange and intimidating. Those who walk this path are filled with a sense of dread.

It is haunting and threatening. It's a fearsome thing, seeming to have a life of its own. It is parasitic and evil. It is something one wants to avoid at all costs.
