Nickname: Yami Age: 13 Gender: Female Species: Demihuman, specifically the spawn of a Kitsune woman Pronoun Usage: she/her Orientation: Unknown Powers: Levitation, can float through the air at will
"Tsukitsurugi", her hair can extend and sharpen, and split up to nine times to cut at a target like a blade.
Dark Matter, can manifest and launch a projectile of ink black, dense plasma through the air. To be struck by it is akin to being hit by a thick stone. Upon impact, these projectiles splatter and fall apart into sand like particles before fading from sight. Currently can only fire one at a time.
Height: 4'3'' Weight: 66 lbs, unless levitating, where she appears to be weightless. Appearance: Yami appears as an early teen girl of eastern descent, with chalk white skin, black eyes with purple irises, and most notably, long, jet black hair, which falls as far as her ankles and often covers her face. Her nails are as claws, capable of rending flesh, canine fangs accompany her top and bottom rows of teeth, and her inner iris is slitted, like the eyes of a predator. She is often seen wearing loose clothing, most often black, like what her mother wears. She arrived wearing a black kimono with white half of the yinyang symbol sewn on either sleeve and a crimson sash in the middle.
Personality: A young girl born of a mad, occultist human professor and a demonic kitsune who once threatened their world, Yami reflects the innocence and naivete of a kind hearted child, despite her own monstrous features. She is often full of energy, ready to play games and make friends, yet on occasion she will lose control over her powers and potentially cause injury to others. As Yami has been raised by an occultist and a frightening demon, there is very little that scares her. In fact, she feels right at home in the unsettling atmosphere of the Gray World. As fun as it is though, she feels she should return home before her mother becomes upset over her disappearance. "Mamma is scary when she's mad."
In a sentence, Yami can be described as "a demon child with the heart of an angel," where her innocent and pure nature contradicts the fact that she looks like your typical long haired horror movie ghost girl.
Strengths: Tag (Is faster than a human should be, whether floating or scurrying on all fours on floor, wall, or ceiling)
Hide and Seek(Is good at tracking people down through a heightened sense of hearing and smell, both of which are on par with that of a fox.)
"Playfighting" (Yami, with her sharp claws, heightened senses, and supernatural powers, is well capable of defending herself against many dangers)
Weaknesses: Little restraint over her powers, can lead to unintentional injury.
Reading a situation is often a challenge, she doesn't pick up on social cues that well.
Likes: Playing games Scaring friends Trying new things Dislikes: Sitting still Ginger Thunderstorms History:
In a distant time and space of another world, there was once a kitsune known to the world as "Hoji", that threatened to engulf it with a dark force known as Miasma. She was thwarted by the heroes of that time, however, and had since laid dormant and inactive within her lair. Thousands of years later, a human occultist happened upon her, and was stricken with a bizarre affection for the fox woman, and proceeded to woe her.
The two would in time produce a child neither human nor demon, and would name her after the moon in the beautiful night sky, "Yamitsukiko." This child would inherit a great deal of her mother's powers, but her lack of restraint and control over them became evident. Because of this, her mother and father would raise her exclusively within their territory, a space within the spiritual plane, that experienced a perpetual night. She would never be taken to the land of the sun, and those who inhabited it. It was thought to be the best way to keep their child safe, until such a time when her abilities could be properly controlled.
Her curiosity of the world beyond her home drove Yami to attempt to sneak out of her home, however, and the moment she stepped foot outside the tori gates bordering the lair of Hoji, she found herself transported to a strange, gray landscape.
