Age: They look sixteen. Hard to say how many decades they've looked sixteen.
Gender: Gender Fluid
Species: Sidhe Fae
Pronoun Usage: If asked they'll use "they" pronouns but they prefer to let people guess and then be uncomfortable if they choose binary pronouns. Because their presentation will change ten minutes later.
Powers: Sidhe Abilities: Glamours. Immunity to illusions. Ability to communicate with any living thing. Personal Abilities: Aislin's glamours aren't especially powerful, but they are fairly skilled at changing their own appearance, and very good at invisibility. They have a natural affinity for magic and a detailed understanding of how it works, but not much in the way of power. Even minor spells outside of glamours take time and effort, and are rarely used. Aislin shares a telepathic link with their twin sister.
Height: 5'5" Weight: Lighter than you would expect.
Appearance: Aislin is very fine featured, and looks classically fae. Very dark red hair, pale skin, and a scattering of freckles. Their eyes are an impossibly vivid green.
They change their appearance routinely, shifting between masculine and feminine features, but usually the change is subtle, not so much that they look like a different person, or even so that one could easily recognize that anything has changed.
They usually prefer short hair, and some form of predominantly green clothing.
Personality: As with most fae Aislin is capricious. They are loyal only to their sister, and pretty well indifferent to everyone else. Aislin might be described as a sociopath. In fact, any psychologist worth their salt would identify them as such immediately. They just don't care about anyone but Aednat.
They love playing little tricks which would be best described as "mostly harmless"... Usually.
They tend to take a very relaxed approach to life and are very rarely serious.
They are very protective of their sister Aednat and quick to point out that they are twelve minutes older.
Strengths: Aislin is sneaky and subtle. They are extremely skilled at sleight of hand, even without the aid of glamours.
They are skilled with a knife, including as a thrown weapon. They are also a crack shot with a sling.
They are very persuasive, and endearing enough to convince people to let them get away with their sometimes inappropriate behavior.
They can play the flute and fiddle, as well as sing, rather well.
Sidhe Weaknesses: Unable to lie. Iron burns, and weakens their magic. Compelled to keep promises. Compelled to settle all debts.
Personal Weaknesses: Aislin's overprotective tendencies can be more of a weakness than a strength.
They frequently have an unrealistic sense of the urgency of situations, and a tendency to be laissez faire even about life threatening situations, unless Aednat is in danger.
Their tendency to prank, joke, and irritate can have significant social consequences. As indicated by the fact that Aislin has been banned from all the faerie courts, but still returns now and then just to tease.
Aislin has a little bit of a kleptomaniac streak, and will walk off with things just because they are interesting.
Likes: They rather like shiny things. Bright sunny days and moonlit nights. Adventure. Music.
Dislikes: Aislin cannot stand the idea of being tied down, imprisoned, obligated, or even working for a living. They don't take well to people to take themselves too seriously.
History: Aislin and Aednat were raised in the Seelie court. Their mother was one of Titania's closest friends. They were quite young when Aednat witnessed the gruesome death of their mother. Aislin has not left her side since.
They don't talk about what happened, but it is known among the Seelie court that their mother was killed by a dragon.
They were raised by the faerie queen, for a while, but decided they weren't suited to court life. They effectively ran away from home and have roamed ever since.
Both know they would still be welcomed to return to the Seelie court and resume their roles as the adopted daughters of a queen, but have no desire to do so.
Aislin considers it their obligation, and their pleasure, to provide for both of their modest needs. Which they do primarily through petty thievery and cons. It's easy enough to walk invisibly into some human's home and take what they need.
